How do I start up my MyspaceIM account?

I put in my login name for my myspace account, put in my pword, then I hit connect. A screen pops up wanting me to creat a username but everytime that I do this, it approves it but won't let me go any farther. What do I need to do from start to finish to set up my MyspaceIM?
