Me as EU citizen has rights in Ukraine?

hey, I am currently in Ukraine, I am officially citizen of Latvia and I officially live in Ireland. Woudl you say I have special rights or help from Europe in Ukraine? The thing is: one person threathened me with law, that persons mother works in local border controll and has connections with local police, local city is only 5000 people. Would you say I have any rights for lawyer or judge from Europe and not from Ukraine? I mean logically ukraine isn't in EU, but it really wants to be accepted, it allows EU citizens to enter and leave with no visas, they must have some kind of rights? really need help. Please. also any phone numbers I can call just in case of emergency in Europe?
