The Industrial Revolution that took place in Europe (specifically, Britain) since the 18th century found its way into the United States in the late 19th century after the Civil War. The rapid growth of cities was inevitable, since in Europe previously desolate cities became centers for industrialization and population growth such as Manchester. By the start of the First World War, America had already surped Europe in terms of industrial production.
