How to set up Wifi on a comcast connection?

I have comcast and I just bought a laptop. The router supplied by comcast does not have an antenna or broadcast any form of wireless signal. I talked to someone at my local comcast office and they said that they could provide a wireless router for $145. Do I really need to get theirs (It looks overpriced) or can I just get a different one from radioshack?
