My history teacher is making us email him our answer to this question for homework..?

I always found the gunposder plot and the history of the plague quite interesting. Pearl harbour occured during WWII I think so it doesn't count "besides WWI and WWII". I think he wants you to email him something about another historical event. How penicillin was invented is also kinda interesting :-)
