Postponing the wedding?

My fiance asked me to marry him in early April of this year. When we originally talked about the wedding date, he was shocked to learn that I had always wanted a year long engagement, just to let everything soak in and to not feel rushed about the wedding plans. He wanted a six month engagement and to be married in October. I thought this was a little soon, but I went a long with it, seeing how he is so against a longer engagement. I recently graduated from college, began a VERY high stress job, and moved in with his family. I am being bombarded by change and haven't even had the energy to think about the wedding. I've talked to him about postponing it, he said he's behind me either way. Is this okay?
