Software Engineering?

Well software engineering is the engineering of software. You will help design programs like the ones you use every day on you computer, cellphone, mp3 player, and etc. Now you said you don't know what this is so I'm guesting you don't have any programming experience which is a problem. Programming is a basic thing in both SE and CS. Programming is pretty much giving commands to a computer to make it do what you want and there are many sub fields in programming like system programming and application programming. After that is where SE and CS are different. In SE you focus on more of the design and business part of software development. In CS you do more programming, problem solving and more computer related things. Before you do anything you need to read on both the subject of SE and CS. Also read up on programming and see if that is what you want to do. I wouldn't just jump into SE to try it out because it is something that most people actuality chose to do and don't just try it. What I mean by that is that most SE and CS students already love computers and know how to program and have been doing it you a long time. Like me for example. I plan on getting a CS degree but have been programming for years and know what field I want to get into. If you need any info on SE, CS, or programming just ask me or ask a question on here.
