Why dont the UK have snow plough?

Well Scotland, which makes up a large part of the UK, does have snow ploughs because the frequency of snow is far higher than in England so Scotland rarely, if ever comes to a standstill. But in England the local councils have to decide to buy very expensive snow ploughs just in case it snows for a day or so once a year or whether to allocate those resources to the elderly or social services or some other worthy cause. So the answer is that there are more important things to spend the money on and the councils money is not limitless.
