I want to change my last name back to my maiden name without a divorce in california. HELP?

I married a US citizen and adopted his last name. I plan to change back to my maiden name legally (through the courthouse) because he and his family have a lot of debts that can affect my credit and reputation. He agreed to this. Will this affect the process of obtaining permanent residence? I currently have a conditional green card.
